BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul held a bilateral meeting with Bahraini Ambassador Khalil Yaqoob AlKhayat at Government House on May 14 to discuss expanding cooperation between Thailand and Bahrain across multiple sectors. Both sides reviewed progress in bilateral relations and agreed to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, medical and wellness tourism, and food security. Thailand described Bahrain as an important partner in the Middle East, with both countries approaching the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year.
Discussions on economic cooperation included efforts to increase trade volumes, encourage two-way investment, and promote private-sector exchanges. Bahrain was identified as a potential gateway for Thai products to wider Middle Eastern markets. In tourism, Thailand continues to attract Bahraini visitors, including those seeking medical services, and both sides support further healthcare cooperation. The prime minister also addressed regional developments in the Middle East, calling for dialogue and de-escalation to maintain stability.
