BANGKOK, Thailand – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul on Friday to discuss expanding agricultural trade, boosting Chinese investment, and intensifying the joint crackdown on cross-border telecom scams.

Wang, who is visiting Thailand from April 23–25 as part of a regional tour that also includes Cambodia and Myanmar, was received at Government House by Anutin and Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow.

According to government sources, the “open agenda” meeting focused on securing larger Chinese purchase orders for Thai agricultural products and encouraging joint investments by Chinese businesses, fostering technological exchange, and intensifying the crackdown on scammer networks.

A key priority on the table was the suppression of regional “scammer” networks and online gambling syndicates, which have become a major security concern for both nations. Following the discussion, the two leaders attended a formal lunch to further commemorate the strong diplomatic ties between Beijing and Bangkok. (TNA)
