A Finnish man who lost his wallet and may not have had enough cash to pay his rent apparently jumped to his death from a Central Pattaya apartment.  As perhaps a message to his survivors, he was wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with large, bright red letters spelling out “Stressed Out”.

Kai Isokaanta, 33, leapt from the balcony of his fourth-floor room at the Suphamit Apartment off Central Road at 10 minutes past noon on Sept. 4.

Building receptionist Chirawat Moolkhob said Isokaanta had checked in July 26 and was often seen drunk and partying. But when she went to collect the rent Sept. 4, he refused to answer the door.

Attempting to use a pass key, she found the door barred, but caught a glimpse of the Finn inside. As she tried to speak to him, she said, he leaped up, smashed some of the furniture and leaped from the balcony.

Police said Isokaanta had recently reported his wallet and passport lost and they speculated he committed suicide because he had run out of money.
