Blind pedestrian Jamlong Charoensukh, 64, died instantly and his wife, Samneang Khunkhamdee, 52, was seriously injured when the Land Transport Co. bus carrying 47 people lost control and slammed into a telephone booth at kilometer marker 131-132 on Sukhumvit Road Oct. 9.
Tragedy struck when a motorcycle allegedly cut in front of this Bangkok-Trat bus in Pattaya at kilometer marker 131-132 on Sukhumvit Road.
The 35 injured people, including bus driver Chaiyarit Khamsaen, 43, were treated at three area hospitals.
Chaiyarit told police he was cut off by a motorbike and lost control of the bus, hitting Jamlong and a phone booth before crashing into the utility pole and overturning.
