Central Group opened its first Baan & Beyond home décor store in Pattaya with fresh-cut Christmas trees and gifts to charity.

Suttisan Chirathivat, head of CRC Thai Watasadu’s construction materials and home decoration division, joined top department store executives, Pattaya-area officials and police at the Sukhumvit Road store in South Pattaya for the Nov. 30 opening.

The Pattaya furnishing and home-repair outlet is CRC Thai Watasadu’s third in Thailand following openings in Chiang Mai and Khon Kaen.

But Suttisan said Pattaya may be the company’s most strategic location yet, due to the growth of Banglamung and Sattahip districts and the planned government and private-sector investment in the Eastern Economic Corridor project.

Baan & Beyond is opening with a storewide sale of up to 70 percent off with qualified shoppers able to obtain an additional 40 percent discount by using select Thai credit cards through Dec. 17.

The store also is celebrating the holidays by offering fresh-cut Christmas trees imported from Canada at prices ranging from 3,990 baht to 6,990 baht.

Suttisan presented some holidays gifts as well, presenting 60,200 baht to Rev. Peter Pattarapong Srivorakul, president of the Father Ray Foundation, to continue care of its children.
