The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau has
launched a smartphone application to drive businesses to choose Pattaya
as a site for their meetings and conventions.
D-MICE @ Pattaya TCEB Director Akraphol Sorsurachat
and Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome unveiled the software at the Royal Cliff
March 30, saying Pattaya is being positioned a model “meetings,
incentives, conventions and exhibitions” city for Thailand and that the
smartphone app will help businesses quickly obtain information about
hotels and facilities here.
The smartphone app is free to download, available
online worldwide, including at Google Play, Amazon AppStore, and iTunes
App Store, and can be used with Android and the iPhone
Akhapol said TCEB has laid out strategies to promote
and strengthen MICE bookings in six areas: adventure, green,
experiential, historical, customer service and luxury. The promotion
will be aggressive and become a model of development from other MICE
cities, such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket, he said.
Itthiphol said Pattaya has the capabilities and
facilities to accommodate tourists and conferences thanks to support
from the public sector in logistics, communications, transportation and
marketing.
