Thailand and Indonesia launched four months of joint
naval exercises aimed at strengthening the relationship between the two
countries and mutually improving military tactical skills.
Capt. Nikit Tirakayot, director the Royal Thai Navy’s
Frigate 1 Division and Indonesian Capt. Aan Kurnia signed the agreement
for the 16th set of games between the two countries March 29 at the
Diana Garden Resort.
Dubbed “Sea Garuda,” the long-running exercise will
feature joint practice sessions that will help Thailand and Indonesia’s
armed forces cooperate for the benefit of both countries’ population,
Nikit said.
The exercise is slated to run through August.
