Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome
says the city does not have enough public restrooms.
Thanachot Anuwan
Pattaya plans to install public toilets along its
beachfront.
At a Dec. 14 Pattaya City Council meeting, Mayor
Itthiphol Kunplome said the city does not have an adequate number of
public restrooms to serve its five million visitors a year, many of whom
spend the day outside on the beach or playing sports.
The city has hired a private company to construct
modern, international-standard public toilets and present a business
model to the city on how to collect usage fees and generate enough
income to keep them maintained.
