Former beauty queen
goes beserk in hotel lobby
On October 16th, police were called to a well known
hotel where a young woman was in a bizarre frenzy and was ripping the
carpet off the floor of the lobby. She was taken into custody and
brought to the Pattaya Police Station.
 The
former Nang Noppamas beauty queen had to be restrained from hurting
herself and others before she was admitted for treatment.
Relatives of the woman came to the police station and paid damages to
the hotel.
After an amicable agreement was reached, the family revealed that
Phienkhae Boonngarm, 19, was a former Nang Noppamas (Miss Loi Kratong)
beauty queen, and that they did not understand why this was happening to
her. They said she had to be watched constantly, yet this was the first
instance of really destructive behaviour. They agreed she would need to
have serious medical examinations.
The police released her into the custody of her family, but she refused
to return home. The situation became so bad that the family had to ask
for help from police officers and Pattaya Memorial Hospital in
controlling her. She then went into another frenzy until restraining
force had to be used to take her to the hospital for examination.
