Public-health volunteers trained about home medications

Dr. Chatchaya Chanwet, MD,
pharmacist from Pattaya Hospital, gives a talk on the usage of home
medicines.
Warunya Thongrod
Pattaya public-health volunteers received training on household
medications to help them better assist local communities.
About 100 volunteers joined the Dec. 13 training session at Pattaya City
Hall with Kanda Nawong, a Public Health Department nurse. Dr. Chatchaya
Chanwet instructed them on medications commonly used at home, their
administration and side effects, and how to check whether medicine had
expired.
Kanda said training sessions are organized when the department receives
inquiries about becoming public-health volunteers. The volunteers work
in neighborhood health clinics that offer advice and organize
activities. Clinics can also dispense medication for colds and general
illnesses, she said.
