150 broadcasters learned production tips from producers of
the government’s “Our Parliament” radio show in Jomtien Beach.
Aphinan Janthrangsi, head of public relations for the House of Representatives,
hosted the Sept. 12-13 seminar at D Varee Hotel. The “Local Radio Show
Production” workshop was attended by radio professionals from 50 stations in 44
provinces.

Pranee Srisuksai, director of broadcasting for National
Broadcasting Radio of Thailand, stated that the past 12 years of work has
produced satisfactory results. A total of 50 regional radio stations have
participated in the project, allowing it to proceed as indicated, developing
programs to a better quality and modify working processes, attitude as a group,
techniques to increase progress and building an alliance.
For 2013, all stations have scores passing the evaluation and in the annual
seminar, an award was presented to the station producing outstanding programs
and as encouragement to continue producing “Our Parliament.”
Aphinant said the Public Relations Department had collaborated with the
Secretariat of the House of Representatives to produce local radio program “Our
Parliament” since 2002. It has been a success evident from an survey conducted
by the secretariat in 2012 finding that involvement by listeners is increasing
every year.
For 2013, the seminar was an opportunity for those involved in helping continue
develop the program to fulfill the purpose of increasing democratic governance.
Therefore, development of democracy to reach the important goal, cities must
understand politics and “Our Parliament” program is a channel to increase
