Chaimongkol Temple opens new dormitory

Thanks to generous donations from the local community, monks at Chaimongkol Temple now have a beautiful new dormitory to live in.

Warunya Thongrod
Chaimongkol Temple officially opened its new monks’ dormitory, made possible by donations of more than 30 million baht.
Advisor to the Deputy Interior Minister Chanyuth Hengtrakul, his wife, Lions Club of Chonburi-Bangsaen President Wilaiwan, along with Santana Mekavarakul, president of Mike Group, and husband Surat, head of the Banglamung Cultural Council, were on hand Dec. 25 as the South Pattaya temple dedicated the new facility.
The building, which replaces a dilapidated structure, was built over 18 months with funds donated by temple worshippers. It measures 58 meters long, 9 meters wide and contains four floors that can accommodate more than 60 monks.

Abbot Pisan Jariyaphiwat led services as guests of honor lit incense before Dhamma Jedi, head of the 13th committee from Kalyanimit Temple in Bangkok, led nine monks to chant religions stanzas. Chinawong, chief of the Honlang committee at Pitchayatkaram Temple in Bangkok, performed the merit-making ceremony.
Monks blessed guests at the ceremony while Chinawong presented worshippers statues consisting of Luang Pu Thuat and Provost Buddha Chaimongkol to those who donated cash to build the dorm.
