BANGKOK – Average viewing hours of both digital and terrestrial television during the second quarter of 2020 were 5.37% higher compared to the same period in 2019.

According to the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), the surge in TV viewing coincided with the period when the COVID-19 outbreak had been escalating in Thailand and the government had announced lockdown measures nationwide.

The NBCT added that the lockdown also had resulted in many people working from home, which consequentially increased the average TV viewing time. (NNT)
