Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha is worried about the death of a Thai woman in Oman and has ordered labor officials to visit her family in Sakon Nakhon province.

Labour Minister Suchart Chomklin said that the prime minister responded to the report that a Thai woman died after falling from the 4th floor of a building in Oman on May 27. The prime minister was worried about the living conditions of all Thais who worked abroad and he extended his condolences towards the family of the dead, the minister said.

He quoted Palida Ruamkham, Thai labor attache at the Thai embassy in Abu Dhabi, as reporting that the Thai woman, Suparat Nganlasom, who was a native of Sakon Nakhon, had a tourist visa and worked as a masseuse. Her husband was Omani.

Local police were investigating the death and the probe could take at least about a week. After the investigation is concluded, the Thai embassy in Muscat will issue a death certificate and her body or ashes can be returned to Thailand for a religious ceremony, Mr Suchart said. (TNA)
