BANGKOK, Thailand – The government is expanding Thailand’s gaming industry into global markets after Thai game businesses exceeded 270 million baht in trade at gamescom 2026 in Germany.
Deputy Government Spokesperson Lalida Perisvivatana stated that the government is promoting gaming as a high-potential creative industry by connecting Thai developers with international buyers, investors, and business partners.
The deputy spokesperson reported that the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, led 15 Thai gaming companies to gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany, from August 26 to 30, 2026. The delegation secured trade negotiations totaling 270,369,990 baht, with 40,590 baht in immediate transactions and an estimated 270,329,400 baht expected within one year.
The deputy spokesperson stated that the government will build on these results through gamescom asia × Thailand Game Show 2026, scheduled for October 29 to November 1, 2026, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok. The event will connect Thai and international game developers, publishers, investors, and industry professionals, creating additional opportunities for trade, investment, and market expansion. The spokesperson affirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the competitiveness of Thai game developers and positioning Thailand as a leading gaming industry hub in Southeast Asia. (NNT)
