BANGKOK, 15 June 2014  – Trang province warns people not to swim in six waterfalls due to fears of flash floods.

Wildlife sanctuary officers in Trang on Sunday issued a warning to the local people as well as tourists who were going to visit the six waterfalls, including Sai Rung, Doi Sawan, To Te, Ton Tok, Ka Chong and Lam Plok. The warning came after continuous heavy rains which might cause flash floods originating in nearby mountains.

There are officers stationed in the waterfalls to warn people not to go into the water to prevent a tragedy similar to the 2007 flash floods at Do Sawan and Sai Rung waterfalls where 38 people were killed.
