The Ministry of Finance has announced that 8.4 million people have registered for the government’s state welfare card scheme in the latest round.
The program provides various benefits, including discounts on utility bills, and is available to eligible individuals. Ministry Spokesperson Pornchai Theeravet urged those who meet the criteria to apply for the program and take advantage of its offerings.
The figure of 8.4 million registrations was recorded as of March 14 at 2:00 PM, with nearly one million individuals currently pending appeal. Those interested in applying for the welfare card scheme can do so online at “welfare.mof.go.th” from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
Alternatively, applications can be submitted in person at any branch of the Government Savings Bank, the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, a provincial finance office, or a district office during working hours.
Furthermore, the spokesperson noted that program participants are now eligible for discounts on their electricity and water bills, effective immediately.
However, those who wish to take advantage of this feature must complete another online registration form. For more information on this process, individuals can inquire via the hotlines 1130 and 1129.
