BANGKOK, Thailand – Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM) has announced revised fares for the MRT Blue Line (Chalerm Ratchamongkhon Line), which will take effect from July 3, 2026 to July 2, 2028, in accordance with its concession agreement. Under the new fare structure, ticket prices will start at 17 baht and rise to a maximum of 44 baht, down slightly from the previous ceiling of 45 baht. The adjustment follows the contractual requirement for fare reviews every 24 months, based on changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI). BEM stated that the revised fares reflect distance-based adjustments across the network. For general passengers, fares will be reduced by 1 baht at specific travel distances, starting from journeys covering 6, 8, 10, and 12 stations onward from the origin station.

Discount schemes for students and elderly passengers remain unchanged. Senior citizens will continue to receive a 50% fare discount, while students and school pupils will be entitled to a 10% reduction in fares at designated travel distances. The company emphasized that the fare structure is designed in line with the concession contract and aims to maintain fairness while reflecting real economic conditions. Passengers can obtain more information by contacting BEM customer service at 0 2624 5200 or through its official Facebook and X channels. (TNA)
