PATTAYA, Thailand – A ten-wheel dump truck overturned near Pattaya at the entrance to Khao Chi Chan Temple in Bang Saray, Sattahip district, Chonburi, on the afternoon of February 6, leaving the driver trapped inside the vehicle and prompting an urgent emergency response.
At around 2:30 p.m., the Bang Saray Subdistrict Municipality’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Radio Center received a report of a serious truck accident with the driver trapped in the cab. Rescue and emergency teams were immediately dispatched to the scene, located just off Pattaya’s outskirts near a dirt lot leading to the temple.
Upon arrival, responders found the ten-wheel truck lying on its side. Emergency personnel carefully worked to extricate the driver, later identified as Somwang Rodphon, who was safely rescued from the wreckage. Somwang sustained minor injuries and was transported to Sattahip Hospital (Km.10) for medical treatment.
According to the driver, the accident occurred while he was raising the dump bed to unload sand, when the truck suddenly lost balance and tipped onto its side. Authorities are continuing to investigate the exact cause of the incident as part of standard safety procedures.
