Pattaya city workers widened a flood-drainage canal to remove storm runoff faster after persistent flooding on Soi Buakhao.
Deputy Mayor Pattana Boonsawad oversaw the work Oct. 13 after pumps failed to clear standing water on the central Pattaya street from the night before.
He also directed staff to suck out sewers of mud and garbage to prepare for the next storm.
