Pattaya is promoting its “Old Town Naklua” vision as a way to revive local fishing culture, support businesses and create a new tourism landmark for the EEC.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya is moving forward with its “Old Town Naklua” vision, aiming to transform the historic fishing community into a new tourism landmark for the Eastern Economic Corridor.

Centered around the Lan Pho Naklua Market area, the project seeks to blend fresh seafood, traditional fishing culture and wellness tourism into a single destination, giving visitors more than just a typical sightseeing experience.

A key highlight of the plan is the development of a multipurpose pier area, where both residents and tourists will be able to experience the daily lives of local fishermen, watch boats arrive, observe seafood being unloaded and buy fresh catches directly from the source.

City officials say the project is designed to benefit everyone, from local fishermen seeking more stable incomes to tourists looking for authentic experiences and Pattaya residents hoping to see their city grow while preserving its identity.

The project is also expected to create new business opportunities for local vendors and strengthen Naklua’s position as a cultural destination that reflects Pattaya’s traditional coastal way of life.
