Pattaya city explores modern technology for wastewater treatment

Pattaya, Thailand – Mayor Poramet Ngamphichet together with the Director of the Bureau of Sanitary Technicians met with Mr. Yang Bo, General Manager of the International Business Department at China Water Environment Group Limited (CWEG) on July 11, to discuss utilizing modern technology for wastewater treatment.



Mr. Yang Bo informed Pattaya city officials that CWEG had earlier conducted a survey of the South Pattaya Canal and discovered that the water was severely polluted. He said that he wished to collaborate with Pattaya City in exploring ways to improve water quality using modern innovative methods.



He asked that he be given permission to conduct a future survey of the area, examining various potential factors contributing to the pollution before presenting a complete report to city hall. The mayor said that he welcomed the assistance from the Chinese delegation and that the city will seriously consider their kind offer.

The company showed “before and after” treatment photos of some of the heavily polluted rivers and waterways in China that they cleaned up.
