PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya’s beer bars and nightlife businesses are continuing to reap the benefits of a busy Songkran holiday period, with many venues reporting strong trade in the days following the festival as Thai and foreign tourists remain in the city.
From April 12 to 19, entertainment venues, beer bars, restaurants, and related tourism businesses saw heavy foot traffic as visitors gathered across Pattaya’s nightlife zones following water festival activities.
Operators said customer numbers stayed high throughout the week, particularly in areas such as Walking Street, Soi Buakhao, Tree Town, and beachside entertainment districts, with some businesses continuing to see strong demand even after Wan Lai celebrations ended, as many visitors still hang around town for more of what Pattaya has to offer.
The increased spending has not only benefited nightlife businesses, but also nearby restaurants, convenience stores, street vendors, and transport services, helping keep money circulating through the local economy.
Tourism officials said Pattaya’s Songkran and Wan Lai celebrations once again highlighted the city’s importance as one of Thailand’s leading tourism destinations, with more than 100,000 visitors attending and over 1.5 billion baht estimated to have circulated during the three-day Pattaya Songkran period alone.
