PATTAYA, Thailand – A 32-year-old bar host was found dead inside his Pattaya apartment after friends lost contact with him for 10 days and investigated when a strong foul odor began coming from his room. Police and rescue workers were called to a four-storey apartment building in Soi South Pattaya 9, at around 8:00 a.m. on August 1 after the discovery was reported. When officers entered Room B2, they found the body of Rattaphak Saetern, 32, lying on the floor in an advanced state of decomposition. A strong odor filled the room, while coins and personal belongings were scattered across the floor. Investigators estimated he had been dead for at least five days.
According to colleagues, Rattaphak lived alone and worked as a host at a Pattaya bar. They had been unable to contact him since July 21, raising concerns after he failed to answer calls or report for work. After more than a week without hearing from him, friends noticed a strong smell coming from his apartment. Using a spare key, they entered the room and found his body before immediately notifying police. Investigators from Pattaya City Police examined the scene and collected evidence to determine whether any suspicious circumstances were involved. No official cause of death has yet been released. The body was transferred to the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine in Bangkok for an autopsy. Police will coordinate with the victim’s family before releasing the body for funeral arrangements.
