1 hurt as big-rigs collide on Chonburi highway

Teerayuth Wala sits trapped in the cab of his Isuzu truck after crashing into the rear of an 18-wheel Hino tractor-trailer that slammed on the brakes suddenly.

A truck driver was injured when his 10-wheeled vehicle slammed into the back of an 18-wheel big-rig in Phanat Nikhom district of Chonburi.

Teerayuth Wala, 30, suffered leg and lower-body injuries in the April 1 crash on Chachoengsao Road in Na Phratat Subdistrict. He was trapped in the cab of his Isuzu for 30 minutes before being transported to Phanat Nikhom Hospital.



Saroj Nampae, the 25-year-old driver of the 18-wheel Hino tractor-trailer, said he was driving in the right lane when a pickup truck darted out of a side street, cutting him off. Saroj slammed on the brakes and the tailgating Teerayuth rear-ended him.

Passersby look on as paramedics work on rescuing Teerayuth, the injured truck driver from his crushed cab.


Paramedics took 30 minutes to release Teerayuth from the crushed truck cab before transporting him to Phanat Nikhom Hospital.
