Police checkpoint on Pattaya Beach Road snares meth user

Pattaya police set up a checkpoint on Beach road in front of the police station to inspect cars and motorbikes for any irregularities especially driving under the influence of alcohol.

A Pattaya man was caught with methamphetamines at a police checkpoint on Beach Road.

Suttiphon Piewdum, 30, was nabbed around 1 a.m. April 1 at the checkpoint outside the Pattaya Police Station on Soi 9 with 5 grams of crystal meth and 10 ya ba tablets.

Police said they saw the man driving toward the checkpoint before he tried to change directions. Police pursued and caught him.

Officers said Suttiphon confessed he bought the speed for about 2,800 baht in total from a drug dealer in Pattaya.
