PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya municipal officers inspected public areas on Sept 15 after reports of vendors placing goods for sale in spaces used by the public and obstructing traffic, adding to concerns in already narrow sois and streets where traffic can be busy throughout the day.
City enforcement officers checked areas where merchandise and other items had been placed on public land, potentially restricting road users and pedestrians. With many Pattaya streets already limited in width and traffic often heavy, even small obstructions can make it harder for vehicles and pedestrians to move safely.
For residents and regular road users, the problem can sometimes feel like it never ends, with public spaces repeatedly being used for selling, parking or storing goods and leaving less room for everyone else. Officials informed vendors and operators of the regulations and instructed them to use public spaces correctly. Where violations are found, cases will be processed for fines in accordance with the relevant procedures.
The operation aims to keep public areas orderly while maintaining convenience and safety for pedestrians, motorists and other road users. Residents can report obstructions or problems involving public spaces through Pattaya City’s 1337 hotline.
