Siriraj Hospital introduces Asia’s first Halcyon Version 5 radiation therapy system, bringing faster imaging, real-time motion tracking and precise patient positioning to cancer care.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Siriraj Hospital has introduced Asia’s first Halcyon Version 5 radiation therapy system, expanding its cancer treatment capabilities with faster imaging, real-time motion tracking, and precise patient positioning. The technology supports a wide range of radiation therapy applications and is available to patients under all major healthcare schemes. Professor Apichat Asavamongkolkul, dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Siriraj Hospital, said the introduction represents progress in medical expertise, personnel, and healthcare infrastructure, while helping to raise the standard of care for patients in Thailand and abroad.

Halcyon Version 5 combines three advanced technologies into a single system. Its HyperSight technology produces CT-quality images in seconds, helping medical teams accurately locate tumors before radiation treatment. Real-time motion tracking monitors patient movement during treatment, improving accuracy and safety. The system also features a multidirectional treatment couch that allows medical teams to position patients precisely and make adjustments during treatment. Together, the technologies provide greater accuracy and efficiency across a broad range of cancer treatments. (NNT)
