CHIANG RAI, Thailand – Natural Resources and Environment Minister Suchart Chomklin has ordered the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) to deploy personnel to assist residents recovering from recent flash floods in Chiang Rai province and accelerate cleanup efforts in affected communities. After floodwaters receded, officers from the Kok River Forest Fire Control Station were dispatched to Mae Korn subdistrict, with a 4,000-liter multipurpose water tanker and cleaning equipment. Teams began removing mud and silt from homes, cleaning public areas, and helping restore damaged areas.
Suchart directed agencies under the ministry to maintain coordinated disaster response efforts, including monitoring, emergency assistance, and post-flood rehabilitation, to ensure support reaches affected residents as quickly as possible. The DNP said all units in disaster-prone areas have been instructed to keep personnel, vehicles, and equipment on 24-hour standby for emergency deployment. The agency will continue working with relevant agencies to support recovery efforts until affected communities return to normal. (NNT)
