Election materials are distributed from Pattaya City Hall ahead of Sunday’s mayoral and City Council elections, with officials emphasizing transparency and orderly election management.

PATTAYA, Thailand – The Election Commission of Thailand observed the handover of ballot boxes and election equipment for the Pattaya City Council and mayoral elections, highlighting the importance of transparent and verifiable procedures. The inspection was held at Pattaya City Hall and attended by Chonburi Deputy Governor Issara Charoenchasri, who served as Pattaya City Election Director, along with members of the Chonburi Provincial Election Commission and related agencies. Officials noted that the field visit was part of the Democratic Political Leadership Development Program, Class 2, which aims to strengthen leaders’ understanding of democratic processes and election administration across political, public, and private sectors.

Participants studied election procedures on-site, including the handover of polling materials, polling station setup, and voting procedures. The activity aimed to promote understanding of fair, transparent, and verifiable election management. To prevent congestion and ensure orderly distribution, Pattaya City scheduled the handover of election materials in designated time slots for each of its four electoral zones. The municipality has 80,204 eligible voters and 113 polling stations: 28 in Zone 1, 27 in Zone 2, 25 in Zone 3, and 33 in Zone 4. Pattaya City authorities encourage all eligible citizens to vote for City Council members and the Mayor, emphasizing the importance of public participation in local development. The Pattaya City Council and mayor elections will take place on Sunday, June 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at designated polling stations. (NNT)
