Northern Royal Rainmaking readied for execution when needed

BANGKOK, 24 January 2013  – The Northern Royal Rainmaking Center has been on the lookout for drought and haze problem in the region while staying ready to induce rain if needed. 

The Northern Royal Rainmaking Center Director Song Klinprathum revealed on Wednesday that a close surveillance has been launched in all 17 Northern provinces to monitor the drought crisis and the haze problem.

Mr. Song stated that Thailand’s North tends to experience either or both problems during the months of December and March. Therefore, the center needs to constantly assess the weather conditions to see if artificial rainmaking is possible.

He said that the Northern Royal Rainmaking Center can make quite a precise assessment, which allows the rainmaking crew to starting the cloud seeding process to ease drought and haze.
