Supreme Commander Gen Min Aung Hlaing yesterday met with the Thai Premier at the Government House, where both parties agreed that Thailand and Myanmar had had strong diplomatic relations and economic partnership. The two also agreed that the Dawei project was massive and that both countries would have to work hand in hand to ensure its success.
During the meeting, Gen Min told Miss Yingluck that Myanmar would welcome Thai investors, and expressed his interest in helping Thailand eradicate the problem of illegal workers.
The General also said the number-one issue both nations need to focus on right now is drug trafficking, adding that both countries' armies alone cannot do the job, and that their Interior Ministries will have to chip in with their efforts, too.
General Min, on behalf of his government, people, and nation, thanked the Thai government for its support in the development of democracy in Myanmar.
