Flood Relief Center continues efforts to save Nava Nakorn

BANGKOK, 18 October 2011 -The Flood Relief Operation Center (FROC) continues to monitor the flood situation closely with their focus on ways to revive the Nava Nakorn Industrial Estate after being hit by the deluge yesterday.

The meeting among flood rescue units at Don Mueang airport is still being carried out to assess the current situation and to formulate a plan to protect the Nava Nakorn Industrial Estate. According to the FROC, more volunteers are still needed to help pack relief bags for flood victims.

People and members of the government and private sectors are continuously arriving at the Center to offer their donations while buses from the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority and the Royal Thai Police are on standby to pick up flood victims and drop them off at various temporary shelters. Those who need assistance can contact 1111 ext 5 for 24 hours.
