Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn receives copies of a newly published book on Nakhon Nayok’s history at Sa Pathum Palace, as authors and officials mark her continued support for historical research and education.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is being honored with the publication of a new book on the history of Nakhon Nayok province, prepared by former Permanent Secretary for Interior Suttipong Juljarern and his spouse, Dr. Wandee Khunchornyakong Juljarern. A total of 5,000 copies have been produced in recognition of Her Royal Highness’s enduring interest in the province’s historical development.

The book, titled The History of Nakhon Nayok: From Dong Lakhon to Nakhon Nayok, presents a comprehensive account of the region’s past based on expanding academic research. Her Royal Highness has long supported historical study in the area, encouraging work by the Fine Arts Department and academic institutions. This has led to a deeper understanding through archaeological excavations and research at sites such as the ancient city of Dong Lakhon, as well as studies of former Japanese military camps in the province.

On April 1, Her Royal Highness granted an audience at Sa Pathum Palace to Suttipong and his family, who attended to offer birthday wishes. During the audience, the group presented a donation for charitable purposes at the royal’s discretion and offered 10 copies of the book in celebration of Her Royal Highness’s birthday on April 2, 2026.

Printing is expected to be completed in May. Of the total, 1,000 copies will be presented to Her Royal Highness, while the remaining 4,000 copies will be distributed to schools and academic institutions for educational use. The book will also be available in digital format.

This publication is the third historical work funded and produced by Suttipong. His earlier books on Trat and Saraburi provinces were donated to institutional libraries, encouraging students and young readers to explore local history and better understand their communities. (NNT)
