Austrian fugitive arrested in Pattaya

Chonburi Immigration Police arrested an Austrian fugitive hiding out in Pattaya to duck an arrest warrant back home for Internet fraud.

Adam Ferdinand Reinhard, 48, was apprehended at his Soi Kophai apartment Jan. 16. His visa was canceled and he was processed for deportation.

Austrian law enforcement sought the assistance of Thai authorities after Adam fled the country after being sentenced to five years in prison for refusing to pay 7,000 euros in back child support. He is also accused to scamming 10 victims out of a total 1,000 euros through fake product sales on the Internet.
