Koh Mr. Saxman and his band of renown perform for the 10th
anniversary guests.
Dr. Iain Corness
Casa Pascal restaurant had the second half of its 10 year
celebrations last weekend. A New Orleans flair menu was prepared for the
diners, with a great musical evening presented by Thailand’s top
saxophonist, Koh Mr. Saxman.
“This
one is dedicated to you…”
It was pointed out just how Casa Pascal has become part
of the ‘real’ Pattaya, now being the only high end restaurant with the same
location, same management and same owners after 10 years. Even the Pattaya
Mayor popped in during the previous week, to add City Hall’s
congratulations.
Two tables had double celebrations, with Kevin Fisher’s
Mum (broken toes and all) and Monika Rottmann both having their birthdays
that evening, with Koh Mr. Saxman serenading both the ladies with a jazz
version of “Happy Birthday.”
One very happy table was populated by expatriate Welsh
people from Swansea, who are regulars at Casa Pascal and in the midst of
them all was a very famous Welsh comedian Owen Money MBE, who was obviously
enjoying himself.
There was no doubt that jazz as a genre is still very
popular, with many CD’s of Koh Mr. Saxman and his band being purchased and a
queue at the end clamoring for the famous saxophonist to autograph their
copy. Their rendition of Dave Brubeck’s Take Five (written by saxophonist
Paul Desmond) had the diners on their feet applauding.
At the end of the night, the MC announced, “If you think
that was good - wait till the 11th!” While waiting for
the next anniversary, Pascal and Kim and the staff of Casa Pascal are ready
to continue serving some of the finest food on the Eastern Seaboard.
The
sultry Phang Khow spices up the evening with her beautiful voice.

Many of
Kim and Pascal’s close friends turned up to wish them a very happy 10th
anniversary.
Judy and

This
group from Wales is obviously having a great time.
