The East Side Friendly Golf Society will be holding a charity event for the Mercy Center on Friday, September 24 at Mulligans Lakeside Bar & Restaurant near Lake Mabprachan. Commencing at 7:30 p.m., and running on till midnight, the free entertainment will be compered by Christopher Parsons from the Pattaya Players and will consist of the ‘East Side’ resident professional duo ‘We2r1’, from the UK, Josie & Dave, Barry Upton, Mandy and Willie and children from the Mercy Centre. There will also be free food for all those in attendance. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Mercy Center in Pattaya. A Lighthouse Club (LHC) charity networking event sponsored by CEA-Projects will be held at the Dusit D2 Baraquda hotel on Pattaya 2nd Road on Friday, October 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. During the function, free-flow of food and drinks will be available as long as stock lasts. Admission fee for ALL ladies and LHC or BCCT members is only THB 200 and non-members pay THB 500. The Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC) will be holding their annual Holiday Bazaar at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort Pattaya on Saturday, October 2. This event gives PILC members and the public a chance to meet up, either sell or buy an array of goods from silverware, to jewelry, to local handicrafts, to food and wine, and to help the PILC collect money to support the local community. The next meeting of Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be on Sunday, Sept. 26. Everyone is warmly welcome. The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea (formerly Henry J. Bean’s) located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Each week the PCEC usually has an interesting speaker to talk on various subjects of interest in an informal setting. This week the scheduled speaker will be Tony Crossley, speaking about Thailand Utopia - Fantasy and Fact. This program will be followed by the ever lively and often humorous Open Forum where questions are asked and answers given about living in Pattaya as well as an update on events in and around Pattaya. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone. Charity Musical Theatre: A charity showing of “Samson & Delilah” will be performed by famous Thai movie stars at the Alangkarn Theater, Pattaya on Saturday, October 16 at 2 p.m. The event will also feature Glass Harp by the outstanding Weerapong Taweesak and lovely dancing shows by deaf and orphaned children. The Pattaya Classical Guitar Festival 2010 will take place on Saturday 23 October and Saturday 30 October at the Siam Bayshore Resort & Spa in South Pattaya. The 2-day festival will feature performances by some world class guitarists as well as workshops and a guitar exhibition.
