Clubs & Associations

The next Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) meeting will be on Sunday, May 17. The club meets every Sunday morning at Henry J. Bean’s Restaurant on the north end of Beach Road in the grounds of the Amari Orchid Resort. The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:30 to 11 a.m., everyone welcome. Each week the PCEC has an interesting speaker to talk on various subjects of interest in an informal setting. Every third Sunday, the Club usually features a speaker on a medical topic. This week, the speaker will be a doctor from Phaythai Hospital Sriracha. This talk will be followed by the ever-lively and often humorous Open Forum and an update on the happenings in and around Pattaya. A full report appears each week in Pattaya Mail. The Pattaya Ladies International Club (PILC) meets the first Tuesday of every month for lunch and the third Tuesday for a coffee morning. For ladies who are new to Pattaya, a newcomer’s coffee morning is held the fourth Monday of the month at Casa Pascal restaurant at 11.30 a.m. This month’s coffee morning will be held on Tuesday May 19 at Moooore Bar & Grill. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone. Fine dining at Shenanigans: two great Irish Pubs - two great locations in Pattaya & Jomtien. You can enjoy the same weekly specials but on different days. The BCCT is holding a special Eastern Seaboard Dinner on Friday, May 15 with the guest speaker being H.E. Quinton Quayle, British Ambassador. Gmbái Art Gallery offers free Moxibustion and Meditation: Gallery owner and fine artist Jieng Sae Jern is offering a special invitation to visit the Gmbái Art Gallery on Thursday afternoons in May for tea and conversation along with an introduction to the ancient practice of moxibustion and meditation. Moxibustion involves the burning of the mugwort herb and, as with most forms of traditional Chinese medicine, strengthens the blood, stimulates the flow of qi, and enhances general health.
