The Jesters Children’s Fair IS this Sunday

Jesters’ Pub Night follows right after, 6 days later

Lewis Underwood
Although our main focus is on the Children’s Fair right now and this is the ‘last call’ for Sunday the 10th, we are still keeping a watchful eye on the following weekend, Saturday, September 16th, when the 9th Annual Jesters Pub Night is staged at Jameson’s Irish Pub in central Pattaya.

Dave and Nom James have generously joined the cause as new Platinum Sponsors.
This night will be special, not only because it is the final event of the 2006 Charity Drive and we will all be in a celebratory mood, but also because of the special people who will be in attendance. We will kick off at 6 p.m. with stand up comedian Mike Gerrard, who will warm up the crowd for the evening ahead. Our official opening will ensue, which should coincide approximately with the arrival of Robert and Erik on their pushbikes completing their 417 km two wheel marathon.
After their arrival professional DJ’s Paul Jackson and Andy Francis will take over the entertainment and take turns with auctioneer ‘extraordinaire’ Eddy Henheffer who is committed to raise the most money from the amazing items on our hefty list of lots. A very special guest on the night too, will be Mike Axford, visiting from the UK and the generous donor of many of our valuable auction items over the past 5 years.

This signed Ian Rush jersey will be on the auction block.
Headlining the auction are lots of wonderful signed, and authenticated, items of sports memorabilia that feature Mohamed Ali, the 1966 England World Cup Team, Diego Maradona, George Best, Ronaldhino Joe Montana, Vijay Singh, Blackburn Rovers team, Yorkshire CCC and many, many more from sporting luminaries. We also have a Siam Country Club family membership to auction off along with antiques and diamond rings as well. The corporate sponsors keep coming too. Dave & Nom James at the Platinum level and another international sponsor, Sinokor Shipping (Silver) from Korea.

This signed Dean Richards shirt is one of the auction items up for bids on Saturday, September 16.
The evening also features the Grand Raffle and our roving friends will be enthusiastically selling raffle tickets throughout the evening before the draw takes place. This year our two top prizes are from DTC Travel: a week long trip to Phuket for 2 and a Samui 3-day trip for 2. Following this are Judi McNamara’s River Kwai 2-day trip for 4, Swiss Air Bangkok/Singapore return for one, Chaophya Park Hotel stay in Bangkok for 2 nights, Royal Cliff Beach Hotel in Pattaya for 2 nights, Banyan Tree Hotel in Bangkok for a night, Dusit Fitness Center family membership and an i-Pod Nano! There are also many more meal vouchers and gift certificates graciously donated by various local business people.
And, when it is all over, veteran rockers Rick and Harpic will keep the good times flowing well into the night.

Pooh is looking after the many Children’s Raffle prizes.
We wish you a wonderful time with your family and friends at the Jesters Children’s Fair on Sunday 10th at the Diana Garden Resort & Driving Range, North Pattaya. It starts at 10 a.m. and goes on until 6 p.m., action packed throughout, 85 stalls to visit, children’s games with lots of prizes and something for all the family to enjoy. And don’t forget 6 days later to make it to Jameson’s on Saturday, September 16th. Come on by and bid on some auction items, buy some GR ticket books, enjoy the tunes and the Eddy Henheffer show. In the end, it is all for giving the kids in need a better tomorrow.
We call it ‘Care for Kids’ and that is what the Jesters 2006 Charity Drive is all about!

Bid for this signed Fredrik Modin jersey.

Suan Dusit students prepare lunch for blind children

This little one captured everyone’s hearts with her singing.

With all the greetings out of the way, it’s time to dig in and enjoy lunch.

Students from Suan Dusit College at the Pattaya Center Faculty of General Management on August 27 gathered to serve lunch to the children of the Redemptorist School for the Blind and to provide funds for the educational support of blind students.
The Suan Dusit students’ visit was part of a college project for helping both the young and the elderly.
During the morning there was singing, dancing and games, and a lucky draw with prizes for the blind youngsters. This was followed by lunch, and the college students succeeded in fulfilling their project’s purpose, which is to spread happiness.
The Redemptorist School for the Blind is located on Pattaya-Naklua Road Soi 16, and was established in 1986 by Father Ray Brennan for the purpose of providing education to blind students in the primary and secondary school class level. Currently the school has a total of 148 blind students.

The children thank students from Suan Dusit College for lunch.

Students honour their leaders

Mark Beale
Teachers and students from Assumption College Sriracha gathered to honour Brother Director Surasit Sukchai and Brother Loechai, the school’s Principal.

Brother Director Surasit Sukchai, left, receives a portrait of the Pope as part of the Feast Day celebrations.
A day of celebrations saw the Brothers receive gifts and hand out presents to teachers. In the evening a party was held for students and teachers which culminated in a giant fireworks display that could be seen - and heard - all over Sriracha.
This year’s celebrations were extra special as it was the Brother Director’s 60th birthday. The Feast Day celebrations are held every year.
Assumption is the largest school on the Easter Seaboard and offers special English language classes to many of its students.
