Announcements

The Charity Club of Pattaya is building a classroom to house 40+ Children at the Wat Wang Wa School. The school is situated just outside Klaeng, South of Rayong. Until the end of November, with the help of the following establishments, various pub nights will be held with the proceeds being donated to the Charity Club of Pattaya. Dates and venues involved in the project are as follows: Sept. 2 at Oliver Twist’s; October 14 at Shenanigans; October 27 at Kilkenny’s; and the finale will be held at the home of the Charity Club of Pattaya: The Queen Victoria Inn Soi 6 on Sat. November 11. All the Pub Nights will be holding a Charity raffle as well on the night. Watch the local press for the confirmed dates. Hope to see you all at every venue! Clubs

The next meeting of Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be on Sunday, August 27th. The Club meets every Sunday morning at Henry J. Bean’s Restaurant on the north end of Beach Road in the grounds of the Amari Orchid Resort. The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The PCEC extends a warm welcome to both residents and visitors. This week, our speaker will be Ponthep Werachon of the Werachon Law Office who will talk about the current land ownership and company law issues. He will be accompanied by his guest, Steve Burk, an American lawyer who has lived in Thailand for many years. This will be followed by the usual open forum and update on happenings in and around Pattaya. New to Pattaya at Tropical Bert’s (2nd Rd opp Bangkok Bank): every Sunday lunchtime, 1 to 5ish, the U.K. Ex Forces Club meets. It matters not what service you were in, as the idea of the club is to meet over a few drinks and have a good yarn. Free bar snacks and discounted drinks will be provided to members. Jameson’s the Irish Pub has a host of daily specials including on Mondays fillet steak special, a fillet steak served on a sizzling metal tray with french-fries and vegetables for baht 165. On Tuesday it is the turn of the gammon steak with french-fries and veggies at baht 165. Wednesday it’s deep fried bread-crumbed chicken with french-fries at 165 baht.
