Norwegian tourist dies of unknown causes

Vigard Morel’s shocked friends gathered at the Tourist Police Station to try and help determine how their fallen comrade passed away.

Pattaya police received a report by phone from Ms. Sanga Labsom, a maid at the A A Hotel, that a mysterious death had occurred. Sanga took police to room 310, where they found the body of a European, Vigard Morel (sic), 34, a Norwegian national, lying face-up on the bed. There was no evidence of violence or foul play.
The body was taken to the forensic division of the police hospital for autopsy. Several of Vigard’s friends came to view the body of their deceased comrade. None had any idea what the cause of death might have been. His fellow Norwegians said he had a clean medical history as far as they knew.
Police conjecture that the cause of death may have been related to Vigard’s obesity.
