Pattaya School No. 4 students showed how prepared they are for
the coming ASEAN Economic Community at the city education department’s
annual open house.
With the school marching band playing in the background, Principal
Yupaporn Thitiworn welcomed Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome, city officials and
administrators from all Pattaya public schools to the Aug. 6 “36 Years
of Progressive Education & Advanced Technology, Ready for AEC” event.
The 76-year-old school used the event to show off the academic prowess
of the student body and celebrate the Pattaya Education Department’s 36
years of managing the areas schools. Pattaya was incorporated in 1978.
The open house, which began several years ago and rotates among the
city’s schools, included stage performances about the Association of
Southeast Asian Nations region and a show by kindergarteners on
environmental conservation.
Burapha University professor Panphet Romsrai also lectured on the
economic community, which begins Jan. 1, educational exhibits, an
academic quiz, and activities focusing on nursery schools and school
development.
Itthiphol said the open house was a great opportunity to update parents
and community members on the city’s education program and management. It
also shines a light on Pattaya’s progress in preparing for the economic
community.
