The Rotary Club of Jomtien-Pattaya plans to fund the drilling of a
groundwater well to solve water supply problems at the Nong Ta Un Health Center
in Pong Sub-district.
Club President Vutikorn Kamolchote visited the center Aug. 14 to assess the
severity of the problem.
Director Subanta Sukawong told him Pong supplies the center with 12,000 liters
of water each month from a fire truck. It’s stored in a cement tank that can
hold 36,000 liters, but the tank often runs dry.
The center is expanding its operations to give young children vaccinations each
Thursday, so more water is needed.
Vutikorn said he will work with Pong to send another fire truck to the center
each month as the club prepares the funds to drill a well to permanently solve
the water shortage.
