Marine security center protects tourists during Songkran

A Coast Guard Patrol boats makes the rounds at Pattaya Bay.

Urasin Khantaraphan
Five areas organizations collaborated on a marine-security center to protect beach and ocean goers during Songkran.
Banglamung District Chief Sakchai Taengho announced formation of the task force with officials from the city and regional Marine Department and Sawang Boriboon Foundation April 10. The joint safety effort ran through April 20.
Cooperating in the program were the marine police, marine departments, city hall, Sawang Boriboon and marine volunteers.
The officers provided safety information for tour boat operators and inspected boats to check for overcrowding.
