Thaksin isn’t coming back any time soon
Editor;
Re: Re: Democrat Party to seek court annulment of snap polls (PM Monday, 03
February 2014) - Two things are certain; Thaksin isn’t coming back any time
soon, and because of that the Amnesty Bill will not be proceeded with. This
means that the state prosecutor can move against Suthep and Abhisit on the
long delayed charge of murder, for having given the Thai Army the orders to
shoot redshirt protestors in 2010, and as a result of which 91 people were
killed.
This is the real reason Suthep wanted a unelected People’s Council headed by
himself in place of the democratic system he himself was part of for so
long, for as life long President he would make sure no murder charges were
brought against him and Abhisit.
This is also the real reason why he was prepared to plunge the whole of
Thailand into chaos, Bangkok especially, to escape murder charges still
outstanding.
It will be interesting to see if Yingluck does what she is surely tempted to
do, given the dangerous man that Suthep has once again proven himself to be
these last two months.

That isn’t Democracy
Editor;
Re: Democrat Party to seek court annulment of snap polls - In reply to:
Michael Mazur & Peter Abbott (PM Monday, 03 February 2014) - Michael, you
are absolutely right but who would elect Suthep to be the head of the
People’s Council, just the yellow shirts? Ignore the rest of the Thai
Population? That isn’t Democracy it’s dictatorship! If I was Yingluck I
would arrest him for treason in that he has taken illegal steps against the
royal decree ordering the election. That should shut him up for the next 20
years or so!
The Thais in Bangkok are not the whole of Thailand. Democracy means that the
majority form a government. It’s rather like the Liberal/Democrats in
England trying to impose minority rule. Anyway, the leader of the protesters
has a murder charge hanging over him for authorisng the killing of 90 red
shirts in the last coup; obviously a nasty rabble rouser.

Jeremy Kyle could be a man of many faces
Editor;
Re: Start in Soi Buakaow & Who is Jeremy Kyle (PM Mailbag Friday, 24 January
2014) - Jeremy Kyle could be a man of many faces. He could be in the under
35 age group, who when they arrive here, get a GI style hair cut, buy some
camouflage shorts, turn the collar of their shirts up (like their football
hero), wear sunglasses on their head at night time, and pounce around as if
they are on R & R from the football riots in Munich.
Or he maybe in a latter group, 3/4 baggy shorts, Singha T-shirt, black sox &
sandals, shouting at the TV about a ref’s decision. He could fit the image
of “the lost Beachcomer”, wandering about miles from the seaside flashing
his “man boobs” to everyone in the Big C Extra. He, unlike the newcomers may
be covered in tattoos from head to foot. (It’s a pity the circus folded
before he made his debut.)
Don’t get me wrong I would never form an opinion on a person’s looks. I once
lived in Soi Buakaow & saw this man daily and when I finally met him I found
a well mannered man well versed with common knowledge and was a pleasure to
talk with. The one that I find having a quiet drink are the ones dressed in
clean Chinos, polo shirt & casual footwear. Sure they are there to suss out
the talent but most times they do it with class. The list goes on and it’s
up to you to choose who fits the bill of who is Jeremy Kyle.
Next Week! Who was Walter Middey?

The next recession
Editor;
Re: Report points to changing shift in Pattaya condo market (PM - Property &
Real Estate; Thursday, 05 December 2013) - When Thailand has its next
recession (and it will certainly happen), there will be a huge crash in the
condo market in Pattaya. Thai ownership in all condos must be at least 51%,
this will lead to mass selling by the Thai population and this will prevent
foreigners from buying these units. It will all come down very fast.

Expat life

Re: Old guys in Pattaya (PM Mailbag Friday, 24 January 2014) - The economic
crash of the mid 90s drove the baht to extreme low value against western
countries and in doing so gave the impression that people on meager incomes
could afford an expat life in Thailand.
The hard truth is, expat life has never been viable for people who do not
have substantial savings/pensions/incomes.
