The Hard Rock Hotel capped another successful year of fundraising for the disadvantaged by collecting another 400,000 baht at its year-end charity dinner.
Gen. Kanit Permsub, deputy chief aide-de-camp, general to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, again joined hotel General Manager Jorge Carlos Smith and Pattaya Mail Publishing Managing Director Peter Malhotra for the Nov. 29 gala.
The night began with cocktails at the Soul Lounge, followed by a buffet dinner at the Hall of Fame. Drinks flowed freely as house band Drizzle with DNA played live. Winners of the Hard Rock’s Step Up Dance Competition performed and “diva” Jennifer Kim from The Voice Thailand followed.
Following a 2012 in which the Hard Rock raised 1.4 million baht for the HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Charity Foundation, Huay Yai School, and the Children and Women Protection Center Region 2, the hotel started 2013 with a mission to do more.
The Hard Rock Fundraising Dinner was organized to assist educational institutions and charity organizations. The Hall of Fame was filled with donors purchasing raffle tickets and participating in auctions for portraits of HM the King, a hand-painted Thai Benjarong porcelain coffee set, hotel stays and an electric guitar signed by Jennifer Kim and accompanist Koh Mr. Saxman.
The guitar went for 51,111 baht, bringing overall revenue for the night to 400,011 baht.
The 2013 fundraising recipients include the royal foundation, Ban Nok School and Wat Sawang Arom School, and to fund three Hard Rock programs: Rock the Farm, Rock the School and Rock the Lunch.
