More than 1,000 Pattaya residents received checkups as the city Public
Health Department organized the “Pattaya Loves Health” project for 41
communities.
Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome kicked off the Aug. 26 event with city council members,
members of the Pattaya’s Women’s Development Group and representatives from 21
neighborhood councils.
The two-day event received a good response, with residents receiving
blood-pressure checks, eye exams, and tests for kidney and liver function,
cholesterol, gout and ovarian cancer. Despite long lines, the mood remained
jovial.
Surin Yimyai, president of the Soi 5 Thunwa Community, said he was pleased
Pattaya placed importance on public health and lauded the professionalism of the
service.
