Bangkok Hospital Pattaya launches fifth joint blood drive

Local folks donated 36,000cc of blood at BHP during the latest drive to benefit the Thai Red Cross.

Warunya Thongrod
Bangkok Hospital Pattaya collected 36,000cc of blood in its latest drive to benefit the Thai Red Cross.
Hospital Deputy Director Dr. Suphakorn Winwak joined staff and officials from Queen Savang Vadhana Memorial Hospital Aug 8 for the third blood drive of the “New Blood for This World” campaign.
Banglamung Red Cross member Aumnuay Saengchumpol said donating blood not only replenishes national supplies, but is a worthy way for Buddhists to make merit.
“I am happy to have donated blood, this was actually my first time,” said Prathumthong Chompu, an employee at the Montien Pattaya Hotel. “It is making merit for myself and helping others. The hotel had invited and urged over 10 employees to travel to donate blood for the benefit of society.”
In all, 104 people donated blood, adding 36,400cc in donations. The next drive will be held Nov. 28.
