The Banglamung National Command Center for Drugs commemorated
International Day Against Drug Abuse, inviting more than 3,000 people to
drink holy water and swear they will fight against narcotics.
Deputy Gov. Adisak Thepass presided over the June 26 ceremony with
Banglamung District Chief Sakchai Taengho and other community leaders.
Adisak noted International Day Against Drug Abuse was launched by the
United Nations in 1987 and Thailand annually expresses its determination
to campaign against drugs.
The event also featured exhibitions and stage performances plus
attendees drank and poured holy water swearing against drug use.
