The Colors of the East Festival moves to Jomtien Beach this year when
the event unfolds for the sixth time May 23-26.
Sponsored by the provinces of Chonburi, Rayong, Chantaburi and Trat, the event
features food, sales of locally made goods, tourist souvenirs and other cheap
merchandise. Previous festivals have been held on Beach Road, causing massive
traffic problems.
Chonburi Gov. Khomsan Ekachai announced the festival May 7 in Bangkok, saying
the annual fair this year is managed by Image Corp.
Celebrity Pinchaya “Mint” Wattanamontree made pad Thai noodles for media
attending.
The festival will feature musical performances from Kratae-Kratai, Naem Ronadet,
Punch Worakan and Abnormal. There will also be performances of eastern cultural
arts, prize drawings and games. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a
star-studded parade.
